Camera Surveillance.  

The Hotel may use camera surveillance equipment in strategically located internal and external public and shared areas of the hotel only, to monitor movements. Cameras will not be hidden nor will they operate in private guest rooms. Cameras may operate continuously, and surveillance may be ongoing.  

The aim of this is to provide a safe and secure environment to protect guests, visitors, staff and management, as well as to protect the hotel building and assets.  

Any footage is secured safely in cloud storage and can be used to assist in the following ways 

  1. To assist with guest and/or staff related incidents 
  1. To support the Police in a bid to deter and detect crime, assist in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting offenders 
  1. To protect members of the public and private property 
  1. To assist in managing Health & Safety risks 

The operation of camera surveillance means that images and/or sound recordings of identifiable individuals will be collected, held, and disclosed by 14th Lane Urban Hotel. Compliance with the Privacy Act principles is always followed.  

 

We also encourage you to play a role in keeping your personal information secure and up to date. You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in all or any of the following ways 

  • We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. 
  • You may at any time request details of personal information which we hold about you by emailing us on stay@14thlane.nz.  We will respond to your request within a reasonable period of time and will provide you with this information unless there is sound reasoning to withhold any information under a relevant law.
